What we make of it

A one-bedroom flat with its own pool is an unusual object. Most T1s on this island are a box and a balcony, and the reason this one runs to 108 square metres is that the outdoor space is doing the work: a garden, a paved area and about twenty metres of it under cover, which on Madeira matters more than it sounds because the useful outdoor months are the ones with showers in them. The developer describes it as being at ground-floor level while the plans number it floor -2 of Bloco A. On a scheme cut into a hillside those two things can both be true, but it is worth standing on the spot before deciding which side the daylight comes from. No price has been published for this unit.

What is not ideal about it

No asking price has been given, so there is nothing here to compare. It is one bedroom, which caps who it suits and what it can be let to. The floor level is described two different ways in the paperwork and that has not been resolved. And a private pool attached to a small apartment is a maintenance bill every month of the year, not only the months anyone swims.
